You really got to respect Curt Hennig, he retires earlier that year but came back to have that match with Bret Hart and put him over as the new IC Champ. Despite being in such agonizing pain, I would imagine. Curt Hennig/Mr Perfect truly on the best ever and so talented.

Hennig had a bad back. He wrestled that entire match in agony. He put on a great show. He was out of wrestling for two years afterwards. May he rest in peace.

This is what wrestling was all about. Two guys giving it everything. When was the last time we seen a match like this with so many different old school moves being applied and executed. Compare this with a match between Cena and Orton. At least wrestlers in those days actually made an effort.
