By the way, this was my second ever plains supercell ever in two days, they are HUGE! the big cloud from enid sent us driving thrugh the glass mountains (beautiful) all the way to Waynoka and alva, got an intercept in Little sahara Park, it was an awesome HP, 2.5 inch baseballs were a nice touch.

I love enid.
Thats where i was when i saw my first awesome tornadic supercell form in 2004. way off to the west some cumulus congestus formed, and updrafts took it up FAST! in Binoculars you could see its motion. It quickly topped out into an awesome huge supercell in less than 5 minutes.

On that day - Jun 5 1966 - my family and I stood in my grandmother's yard on N 5th and watched four tornadoes in the span of an hour. One of them bumped against a grain elevator, then crossed south about 16th street. It destroyed a few homes, including my aunt's garage apartment just off Maine St.

actully on June 5 1966 a tornado damaged abunch of buildings on 30th street and on June 1 2007 a small tornado tuched down and traveled through the center of town.
I have lived in Enid for about 22 years and have never seen a tornado actually touch down in town.
