That was a moving story. However I wonder, would there be the same reaction if it were a elderly African American couple with a blond hair and blue eyed baby. I wonder if eveyone viewing them would have been able to transpose the same fellings, whatever they were thinking, good or bad to a different ethnicity. Or if the couple were young and African American. That would be intresting to know. And I wonder if we would be able to honest about our biases if there were any. Just Curious.
Very moving indeed, although it really reflects the differences between Georgia and a state like Iowa, which is where I live. Even though Iowa is less diverse, no white man would dare call you a "n***er if you lived here. If he did, any white people who overheard him would deal with him in very short order. But it is good to hear that progress is being made. Hopefully, one day people can learn to overlook differences in race, religion, sexual orientation, and lifestyle.
That's a good question. I don't have the answer, of course. However, I remain ever hopeful.
