It sort of did.

They showed scenes from this at Comic Con - Kyle is there rescuing Amanda from Latnock, that's why they're chasing him.

He survived getting shot before this bit too and he froze the door with his powers and then smashed it to free her. Jessie held off the guards with her kick ass super strength.

The next season is going to be amazing if their powers keep evolving like this!!!!
