For Good: Transplant Games Submission

Become an organ donor: http://www.donatelife.net I have been selected to sing at the Transplant Games this year in Madison, Wisconsin. This is my audition video. The song "For Good" from Wicked is the last song I sang to my son Jake, who donated his heart and corneas on August 16, 2007. His heart transplant recipient will turn 3 on August 1st of this year - during the games (although not the day of the opening ceremonies, as I initially believed). At the time it summed up how I felt about my son and losing him ("you'll be with me like a hand print on my heart"). Since then, it has come to summarize how my family feels about the entire process of organ donation, and specifically the families whose lives were changed by Jake's gift. I changed one line from the original lyrics ("And now whatever way our stories go/ I know you have rewritten mine by loving me so"). Special thanks to my dear friend David A. Scott for recording, editing and completing this video for me. I of course have no rights to this song and don't claim to.

I attended the Transplant Games this year for the first time supporting a friend (15-year liver recipient) and in honor of a friend's granddaughter (15 year-old donor) that was killed less than a month ago in a tragic boating accident. This performance at the Opening Ceremony was AMAZING! Thank you for sharing.
