A wild brown rat watches me, while it tries to raid food from a rabbit hutch. This brave little fella was a frequent visitor. Hard to capture because he was nocturnal. He also gnawed a hole in our shed to get at food. Filmed with an old Hi8 camera. The brown rat is to be found in most parts of the world but is believed to have originated in eastern Asia. These are commonly found in sewers and rubbish tips. Although very lovable looking, their urine can be very dangerous. They carry many parasites. This one was in very healthy condition so we assumed a colony leader. We removed all food souces, ratty disappeared.
