its obvious to me why we have religions. they do one thing very well; control the free will of the masses. slaves to this bible are brainwashed into thinking they are born sick, and must bear the commandment to be well. god is a human construct, there's no denying it, this god is always being spoken of with a gender, human attributes etc.A created role model that must be lived up to, from an age of ignorance.

Carl Sagan...what an amazing man. Possessing the curiosity, charisma, knowledge and wisdom to try to communicate the possibilities and responsibilities that humans are charged with to present and future generations. Count me awe-struck.

@miiror13 which part of Northern Europe are we talking about? I'm from Northern Europe and I see no country around here where nearly 100 % of the population is religious.

@miiror13 what is that supposed to mean? You should try adding some punctuation to your comments, the longer ones are very difficult to read and understand.

@Mekiwyn i say quite the oppisite for all the bible says i dont see any reason why god shouldnt be working in the way science does andd see more evidence of this then not an example is that did you know the sphynx has water damage from its midsection (upper chest) all the way to the very top of it the rest of it was buried under sand until only the last 300 hundred years excluding its making there is cases like this all over to

@miiror13 I state this because it is in the doctrine of the religion. If it's not being followed then the Quran is not being followed as intended. I make these statements based on reading these different holy texts and teachings from them that others do. I find it hard to commit to something based on the fact that others were afraid to seperate from it. It is nice to say maybe god uses the processess we learn but that is assuming what god is telling us in his many holy books is untrue.
The writers of the bible were from the bronze age. They thought the stars were simply lights in the sky. They had no idea they were other suns and many of them have their own planets. We cannot ridicule bronze age people for their loose understanding of the universe for that is how knowledge develops. WE CAN HOWEVER, RIDICULE MODERN PEOPLE WHO STILL BELIEVE A BRONZE AGE FAIRY TALE IN LIGHT OF ALL THE EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY.

Sagan's word are being drowned out by those who wish religious 'doomsday' prophesies to come true, just to validate their beliefs. We must speak Carl Sagan's words louder!
