I want to know if any of you have had to deal with deep and painful acne and/or persistently swollen lymph nodes? Bartonella? What do you think?

  • Oh, I wanted to add that I was never tested for bartonella but don't think I have it. Tested neg on the other co-infections.

  • Hey Tara. Thank you for your responses. Yeah, I'm on ABX. Been on them for about 15 months now. All oral, but pretty high doses. So strange to get skin infections when I'm saturated with Doxycycline which is often prescribed for acne. Bizarre thing. I also had to deal with a couple of instances of tenacious staph infections in my eyes. Had to go to an opthamologist that was Lyme literate. More money, and I had to go back to him 5 times before that got knocked out. Quite a journey.

  • Just an idea...we have discovered that yeast plays a large roll in making you sick with many symptoms, especially the cysts and swollen lymph nodes. Try using a lot of different anti-fungals on your cysts. Yeast is smart, so really change it up and watch for a week to see if you look better. You can also take an anti-fungal like Nystatin to clear up the bad yeast inside you. We took my daughter off the anti-biotics and she healed twice as fast. Good luck!

  • I have MSA, but I have the same "Acne", but it isn't acne. It's pustules, almost like bad fever blisters. When it does erupt, it's 5 or more in one spot. I use bactine and aloe and it helps. I also have strange lymph node swelling. I do have MSA though and an auto-immune disorder of unknown etiology. The lymph swelling is base of sternum, behind knees, pelvic and under the armpit. Just FYI. I believe it is due to spleen issues.~Sami

  • Thanks Steve. Slowly working my way through this stuff. Lymph nodes seem to be down a bit. Bumps aren't that bad this week. It's gross, but , man does this stuff have some really crazy symptoms!

  • I've found that "green foods" help me tremendously in both areas. If you can't or don't get them through your diet, supplementation is an option.

Sorry about your back pain. Have you been to a chiropractor to make sure something's not out of alignment. Other than that, I can only offer my thoughts and prayers.

  • Nice to see an update & sorry for the problems you're having. I don't have the cyst-like flare ups but regular acne has come back (I'm going on 40). I put it in the same category as the various skin rashes that come & go on me....release of toxins. Lymph nodes that swell on me are the ones in my arm pit. They get really sore & there's about 5 tiny ones in each armpit. Any swollen glands are a sign that your immune system can't handle whatever it's fighting. On antibiotics?
