..And, it would've been interesting seeing Tony give it a try in F1.

This is why I like Montoya. He can start and crash anything he wants to drive.

The F1 car has a hand clutch, and you have to be at the right rev, not too high and no lower. The stock car has an on-board starter, plus a clutch pedal.
Stewart is used to starting his own car and poppin' the clutch and going. Hamilton has a crew to start the car from the rear, and is used to being very, very precise.

@jolocke1990 They have steering wheel mounted clutches. They're a little bit completely hard to deal with.
-
@MrChuck8895 start motors are just excess weight! they should put bicycle pedals on them for the race start haha
-
yhats funny f1 drivvers dont start the cars lol
-
@jolocke1990 yes they have hand operated clutches
-
F1 Cars have hand clutches, therefore only two foot pedals so drivers can concentrate on accelerating and braking. The 2012 IndyCar will be using the same thing, including Paddle shifters, electronic throttles and of course the new chassis.

@jolocke1990 Yes they do have clutches, only for getting off the line though after that it's just paddles. Hamilton just didn't know how to turn the thing on, I'm sure he got started fine though.
Kind of like when Richard Hammond got to try out an F1 car.
