@sofakingmatt Thanks. There's two of them good to know i need another controller. What about this gold membership thing i keep seeing? Is that really necessary? Is it expensive? I'm kinda on a tight budget. Can they live without it? Or is it "I gotta have it" sort of thing? lol

The gold membership is about $60 for the year but it isn't needed unless your kids want to play online. They can still play split screen multiplayer if the game supports it.
The free membership still gives you access to the xbox live store and all that stuff. You can totally buy the gold subscription later on if you want but it's definitely not necessary.

I got the xbox 360 for my kids for christmas. Is this anything like the playstation where they are going to need something to save their games so they are not starting over every time they put the game on. IDK Can someone tell me the hidden things I need to know and get them so they can have fun this christmas? Thank you

If the Xbox has a hard drive included (it will say on the box), that's all they'll need. All your games will save to that and you won't have to buy memory cards or anything like that. Only other thing you might need is an extra controller. I think you only get one.
