Here's my new Rondo Agile 8 string 30" Scale Interceptor going through a clean tone...showing the difference in tone between the pickup selections and what happens when you roll off the top...you get put into a box of jazz apparently.

I'm going straight through my Toneport UX1 and recording with Quicktime Pro.

Just doin my thing.

  • Where did you find strings that long? Finding a high E for it wasn't easy, right?

  • @pearljaime2 There's a guy by the name of Gary Goodman that has a couple companies that help with this. garrygoodman[dot]com/octave4plus[dot]com[dot]htm Octave4Plus and Second String Music. Check them out... super awesome people, you can order each string custom length. Super quality too!

  • Nice playing and clean tone. What gauge is your F# at 30"? .080? Can you tune it to E without getting buzz?

  • @EtherealEntity6 I'm not quite sure what the string gauge was because it was what it came with strung. I recently put on some .70s and they've done the trick. Tuning the F# up to an E would probably warp the living hell out of my neck haha I wouldn't want to try it...

  • dude that sounds good I like hearing 8 strings played clean.

  • @BigEthan391 Yeah man it's really full bodied... too bad I don't know how to play anything properly so it sounds even better...hahaha

  • @woocifer Thanks a bunch.

  • @woocifer oh yea how has your custom agile interceptor done for you, I noticed that your videos of it was posted a while ago so I was wandering how the guitar has handled in the long run, also what are the specs on yours ?

  • @woocifer I think he means tuning the F# down a whole step to E not up, and yes you can, the band Meshuggah tunes down to E with an 8 string on some songs. Check out their album Obzen to hear what I mean,

  • @woocifer I think he meant down two steps to an E, Tosin Abasi style.

  • @woocifer

Haha thanks :) I actually meant down to drop E - the tuning I plan to use at 30". Wondered what gauge this was because it sounds a lot tighter and better than most I have seen.
