A new product line from Trident for the iPod touch 4th gen; this slimmer two piece cover enters a very competitive accessory market. For it's size, it offers pretty good protection and comes with dust covers for the 30 pin dock and 3.5mm audio jack. The included 3.5mm extender accessory can be used stand alone which is great. At the end of the day however - we would rather still see the more refined Cyclops or Kraken series of cases released.

  • @DayDealOnDisplay so are you saying that this case is as loose as my old case, or a bit more snug that it wouldn't come off in my pocket. The thing is, I can't get the switcheasy rebel because I have a full body zagg skin. And thanks for the quick replies!

The one we reviewed in this video wasn't a tight fit - but as you mentioned before it was a while ago, and Trident does have a tendency to update their products (re-release) them with an updated version. So as far as we know, it's still the same product we looked at so we still have our same impressions.

Due to the mass amounts of different touch 4G cases available, we haven't had the time to re-visit this.

  • Hi, i know that you've uploaded this video over a year ago, and may not answer me, (though i hope you do) I have one question about this case. A few months ago, i watched one of your videos about the Apex case and I went ahead and bought one for myself. The case looked well for its price. However, the case was VERY LOOSE, my iPod tend to easily come out of the case really easily. The case broke just a week ago (my fault), and before i buy this case, I need to know if it would be a snug fit.HELP!

If our memory serves us right, the Aegis for the iPod Touch 4G was really loose when it was first released and didn't really impress us overall. Trident has come a long way since then, but we're not sure if they ever fixed or upgraded the design on the 4G.

If you're looking for a stylish case that has a tight fit on it, look at Speck cases and the CandyShell / CandyShell Grip. Another consideration are SwitchEasy cases - very similar to the Apex you had but branded.

  • It didn't look so easy when you try to open it o.O

That's just me and my clumsy hands as always. Don't hold it against Trident :P

  • The OtterBox Defender is MUCH better, but also MUCH heavier. Good review though.

I would say Rebel Touch if you can stand the design of it being "skeleton" like.

  • I have one which is better reble touch or this

SwitchEasy and Speck make some good looking products. I would start with those brands - and personally recommend the CandyShell Grip white version.
