ha! the split toe in your tabi are not made to capture the rope LOL! Lets see ya find the knots in the dark. You should be able to pull your weight up the line by just upper buddy strength, or at least if you have to do it using the standard military rope ascending method.

Oh hell yeah...The cheap ones(which this one was) suck donkey balls. That's why I have since upgraded to a better one. But I was however field testing this one semi-responsibly....and doing it from a short height.
You ALWAYS want to field test your equipment and weapons. You want to have confidence in them and know they'll do the job they're designed to do. And be on the lookout for better quality stuff...then replace your inferior stuff with it.
