@braneyda well i don't blame everything on them. If you turn back time to 30 years ago i bet talent was everywhere in Cambodia and it was growing. However they were silenced by our dark past. It's going to take us an awfully long time to get back on our feet but looking at this, we're not even trying no more. :( maybe composers don't even exist in Cambodia? o.0

@lalacakez01 I definately agree with you on that. They need to make their talent shine through by producing their own music. It really is sad that they can't come up with an original, but I guess their society in the motherland thinks it's ok, when we here in America we're more about giving credit where it's due.
-
@braneyda also, i did some research to prove that these productions just want money
preap actually sang this song already a few years back too.
-
@braneyda Well I'm not surprised that they don't know who they are because they arn't exposed enough to it. With time, their parents listen to productions like Raymeas 4U Town and RHM. It's not i don't care but the production don't even give money to redo those songs. Also still, Khmer music today either copies the beat from other countries' music or they cover the old song. To me they are very lazy to not come up with new things themselves.

@lalacakez01 I would have to say then that you are amongst the rare "young people"( speaking out of respect), as most of the young Khmer American's that I've come across, has no idea who Mr. Samouth, or Ms. Sothea are. However they are quick to know who Preap Sovath is. My point is we should appreciate music no matter how it's presented. Since I'm not a singer, I'm not going to say bad things or dis on any of these people who can sing because it's obvious I can't do any better. That is all :)
-
@cmhydronics so then are you saying copy song is the new trend?
-
@braneyda i am sure i make part of the 'young people' of today and i love the oldies, like the real oldies not these remakes of them so I don't know what you're talking about xD Its like singing the same tune, making covers and selling those covers. Why should we pay for something that was sung over probably 3-5+ times per song? The oldies should serve as a example/ horizon for new music. Singing the exact thing shows that the record companies are lazy as heck and just want money.
-
@CAMBODIAlovesROCK I see your point of view, but let's be realistic, how many young people these days appreciate oldies anymore? I believe that it's not a bad idea for Hang Meas to do this, I sure don't want such beautiful music and lyrics to be lost when it can be recreated to reach out to other audiences, mainly our younger Khmer age group. It's just like in America so many old song's are resung by new artists all the time. I hope you don't get offended by my reply :)

Enjoy this song please, original song is past, so get a life. Thanks to Hang Meas for making this song and video possible. Learn how to appreciate things in life. May you all get a life and stop complaining.

I love this song very much, but it's not the original.

I don't really understand why Hang Meas tends to make the Khmer old songs re-sang by singers whose voice are pretty bad.....At worst, they don't match to the original. In my view, it's no need to do like this as those old songs are now still in good condition of sound quality though. "Write new song instead of having old songs re-sang!"
