DS Blümlisalp

The DS (Dampfschiff) is a Paddlesteamer on the Lake of Thun, built in 1906 it was in service until 1968 when the owners decided to scrap her in favour of a motor vessel with the same name. There was outrage in the community. The local people put a lot of political presure on the owners and eventually the owners relented, modified the boat and handed it over to the "Steam Friends". In 1988 she came back into service and is very nuch reviered by the local populus as well as thousnds of tourists from all around the world who visit the lake of Thun and a glance or even a ride on the DS Blümlisalp.
