Good video! You are aboslutely right that there is no use making it waterproof, teh important thing is to have it windproof at the bottom. Id try to get a bit more branches on the ground to insulate from the cold and wet. That is even more important when it gets cold. . Also, id remove the plank next to your bed and perhaps raise the fire 1 dm. it is the the glow from the wood that heats you, the flames just go straight up. Kepp the videos comming. I enjoy watching them.

great two part video! Loads learned and can't wait to go out on tuesday to put it all to use. Thanks

24 degrees is cold, regardless of what you are used too. especially with minimal kit, imho.

merthyrmafia this is obviously the first video of this type you have seen. you certainly didnt watch the first part. he stated this was supposed to be minimalist. there are many reasons to practice that sort of thing. so, no one is trying to take over any roles. these videos are sharing learning experiences. which we all learn from. maybe instead of cutting someone down you should post some videos of your own experiences so we can all learn from them. do something constructive.
Enjoyed the video. I applaud you for having the guts to get out and do it. Its easy to set behind a keyboard and talk about it. To get out and do it is as you say "a different cut of fish". I think we can all learn from your experience and thank you for posting.

There is so little insulation in that shelter. Is a lean-to really proper for winter camping?
