Chanted SLOWLY, the way it should be! This is the first of the two blessings made preceding the morning recitation of the Shema`, according to the most ancient complete version of the Siddur(Jewish prayer book), the text of Sa`adia Gaon. This declaration of appreciation to God for creating the heavenly lights was designed to be done shortly before sunrise. The more common, longer version that is in all the prayer books was originally only meant for the formal community service. This version is for the individual who is praying alone or in a small group(less than ten). This recording was made by digitally doubling my voice an octave higher, and laying down two background tracks of natural overtone singing, with lots of reverb on everything... no other effects were used.
