I think Ella Fitzgerald did the best rendition of this piece. Johnny Mercer wrote the lyrics with Judy Garland in his thoughts and the beautiful music was written by Hoagy Carmichael. My version here on my Wurlitzer is so-so but the song really needs to be sung so the lyrics can add to the complete experience. Notice how my "refrigerator inspector" Remmy sits by me so nice when I play? At least he doesn't run away holding his ears down.

  • @paulj0557 Paul it really gives me a great feeling when you write this. Thanks for watching. I'm glad to know you are making progress on your Rialto II. Gary

  • @ThomasRHaines Hi Tom. Thanks for listening. This tune was always a favorite of mine and I played it many times when I played out in public. Thanks for the kind comment. Gary

  • @TwinMillMC Thanks so much for watching and the nice comment. Gary

  • I've got this playing through my Leslie 705 since I have my Wurlitzer 625t plugged into 2 channels on a 4 channel rack mount TOA 4 channel mixer it leaves two channels for anything else I want to plug in ( eventually I'll have the Rialto II on all 4 channels direct w/ the 540's), but for now this works good. I'll have to say Gary that your Wurlitzer sounds crisp, liquid, smooth, ethereal, beautiful, full!, warm, heavenly, analog, real...beyond words really. Your hard work has paid off big time!
