  • why do people hate this commercial? at least it gets it out there that the Tibet people are in trouble, while at the same time advertising this company. it's a win win

  • @JohnnyB719 The restaurant that they're talking about isn't in Tibet, it's in Chicago. And the owner's are neither Tibetan nor are they "people in need".

  • 'I'm a Marxist,' Dalai Lama tells Chinese students

USA Today - Cathy Lynn Grossman

I can understand that Americans get confused...but they forget that 14th Dalai Lama is an ethnic Tibetan Lama. lol.

  • all this negative attention gets people wondering what Groupon is, then people might find they actually like the company- sounds like they attracted customers just like their marketing team wanted to do.

negative attention can be a pretty good advertising tool

  • i understand the offensive blow.

    people are ignorant

  • yeah, what's offensive about helping people in need who are running a business?

  • The whining idiots have given groupon more airtime than the commercial would have gotten otherwise. I see nothing offensive in the commercial, and want all those WHINERS who have blown this out of proportion ,to grow the hell up and get a life . I guess the whining idiots who have a problem with the commercial, have no life and nothing better to do but to complain . Enough of these people and their complaining GROW UP.

  • @MrDrewLarison why?

  • What's the big deal? I didn't know the monks were in trouble...

  • Poor Tim Hutton. From an Oscar at 20 there's nowhere else to go but down to this disaster at 50.
