Yes a fact is a truth statement. But what followed was contradictory.
The Sun is yellow. The sky is normally shades of red/blue/black. I'm smoking a cigarette. These are facts. Facts absolutely must be true by definition.
A Theory is a testable explanation of the evidence-(aka:facts), which can make predictions, and has withstood the rigors of scrutiny.
