Our second snow of the winter is the one Mama said it was o.k. to use for making snow cream. What fun we had as we stirred and mixed without a written recipe. December and January, 2011 will be one of those winters to remember.. Snow, add some evaporated milk, add three scoops of sugar, add a teaspoon of vanilla flavoring, stir, add a cup of chocolate milk, stir, add more vanilla flavoring, stir, ad more chocolate milk, stir, add more sugar, stir, stir, stir, add more chocolate milk, stir, stir, stir, until the mixture becomes the consistency of homemade ice-cream! Oh. Don't forget to laugh a lot while stirring!!!

  • Experiment! Try it. It may become a "secret reicpe" !!! Be sure to tell us if it works so we can try some of that "Diet Mountain Holler".

  • Betty Yearwood: I like your recipe because it sounds about like mine lol.

Lloyd Yearwood: My mom always said not to eat the first snow of the year because it was the blue snow but the second snow you could eat. So we have been eating, eating, eating and still have not got it ate and the snow is still falling.

  • @rtwfctv - Just keep eating until it's gone! We finished our first batch yesterday. I had made enough for four servings for two people. Just took it out of the freezer and into the micro-wave for 30 seconds before dipping for the next round.

  • Gee, that looked real good. Enjoyed the video

  • @pvjohnson52 - Brother it WAS good! Not just the taste - but also all the memories. Ya think Mama planned for those memories to re-surface?

  • We don't get much of that here in SC! Looks GOOD!

  • That's making us want snow cream up here in Franklin, NC. We have plenty of snow but we don't have the sugar, vanilla flavoring, chocolate milk, can milk and your stirring spoon. Do you think Diet Mountain Holler will work for all the ingredients you had?
