In this video I rack the Kiwi Melon Pinot Grigio into secondary fermentation.

I apologize for the video quality in the video due to low light conditions. My camera doesn't fair too well when it comes to low light and the quality really suffers. At least now i know to make sure I replace the blubs when they burn out in the basement.

Also at the end of the video, when I put my airlock in there is a problem where I push it all the way in and I'm not 100% sure how I'm going to get it out. Please give some advice within the next couple weeks! Thank you!

  • btw, I'm with Immo on the carboy caps instead of bungs... they are only a few bucks and well worth it in my opinion...

  • @DickyBenfield Yeah i'm actually pretty tempted to buy some of those!

  • Hahahahah, man we must be related... but seriously, this video was awesome. Much more relatable to the rest of us mere mortals. Truth is, some times we F-up, and some times shit just happens. I think you handled it well and made a helluva good (entertaining and educational) video to boot...

  • @DickyBenfield I'm glad you like the video! And yeah we all F*^K up sometimes! haha

  • If the bung falls all the way in, rack the wine, and proceed with cleaning as usual. Then you can snake a hand towel in through the top, turn it upside down letting the bung fall past the towel towards the opening. Then slowly pull the towel until it catches on the bung and pull it out. You may have to do it a couple of times. Do a search on removing a cork from inside a wine bottle. Same concept just bigger bottle. :-)

  • @yambor44 Thanks Immolateus sent me such a video and I can see how it could work for this purpose!

  • Yambor44 has the best suggestion....I have a hooked radiator pick that I used once for something similar...the towel idea is much better...this is why I use the orange lid style stoppers.

  • @bmeyer44 Yeah, it was meant to embellish my stupidity! Haha

  • I loved the voice change thing when you fucked up!!! tooo funny!!!!
