  • holy fuck thank you sooo much for posting this i love this song ive spent hours looking for it on the internent thank you!!!!!

  • right on, glad you dig it! This is truly a forgotten masterpiece!

  • I still have this LP. This is a great song for its time and still is today. This is progressive rock in it's infancy.

  • I agree man, primal prog rock in its embryo stage!

  • This is one BADASS TUNE!! Why is this tune not featured on any of the Amboy Dukes compilation CDs?

  • I'm sure it's political - Not sure but I think this and "Survival of the Fittest" are the only 2 Amboy Duke albums on Polydor, if that means anything.

  • Michigan Rock in 1969... MC5,The Stooges,Grand Funk Railroad,The Amboy Dukes....Then you throw them all in a Concert Festival in 1969 with a superb helping of Blue Cheer,Steppenwolf,Free,Humble Pie,Jimi Hendrix,Led Zeppelin, and The Beatles Helter Skelter & Tomorrow Never Knows. Finally Giogio Moroder,Emerson Lake & Palmer,Tangerine Dream,Klaus,Shultz, and early Kraftwerk. What A FUTURISTIC MUSIC FESTIVAL THAT would be in 1969 available had it happened.

  • @JustPlainDB I was there watching The Amboy Dukes performing these songs before my very eyes. I was 16.

  • This is a marvelous example of how fine musicians pushed Nugent to create his most intense musical contributions. Andy Solomon is all over this arrangement and Nugent was at the pinnacle of his guitar playing. Music beyond their era.

  • This is my all time favorite...brings back so many great memories.

  • Loved this tune forever. But Ted and Derek St. Holmes together is heaven too!

  • I would guess that this is the type of stuff that Nugent disowns, which is too bad, the Amboy Dukes of the late 1960's were an actual band as opposed to the hired hands that backed Ted later on in his career.

  • This was back in the day when Ted spent more time with his Byrdland than his Bow.

  • I bought this record when I was in about 8th grade. I gotta admit I didn't understand any of it, except "Why is a Carrot more Orange than an Orange" . Anyway, I got into it more in high school, after smoking pot!

  • Masterpiece. The only FM disc jockey I know who played this in NYC metro-area was the late, wonderful Alison Steele. Also, this album gave us one of the greatest, shortest, rock tunes that would be a fantastic opening number in: Non-Conformist Wilderbeast Man. Strange title, great track, lightning fast singing. All musicians played excellently on this album. Nugent -- you were incredible from the word go. This track is right up there with Love's "You Set the Scene."
