What is wrong with Unity? I like it... Just because it is a little different than the traditional way of computing it doesn't mean is bad. Besides It will get much better and improve with time as well!!! Let not be negative.... It is okay to give constructive criticism as oppose to destructive criticism.

Unity is the biggest peice 'o crap, I am seriously bummed that Ubuntu has chosen this path. The navigation menu is a complete disaster, it's much much slower then the classic menu and it makes finding any application a total nightmare.

@RibaFish66 Well yes, ubuntu 11.10 is pretty bad i must say. It is slow, but i was talking about unity as a desktop itself. I switch to 12.04 few days ago and it just flying in my pc. It feels like 10 time faster than 11.10, loading times are crazy fast. You can feel it will be good LTS realese.

@algiuz Dont know why but Ubuntu 11.10 was just horrible for me.It was slow and moving a window around was incredibly choppy and laggy.I gave 2 chances to Ubuntu 11.10 and both times the experince was horrible.Now i m on Kubuntu 11.10 and KDE and its just wonderfull,every thing is smooth as silk and it works perfectly.

@mrdrumsauce To be fair, the UI design community in general seems to have gone completely insane. Unity, Gnome Shell, Windows 8, etc.

Personally, I prefer using the Dash over pointer-driven menus on laptops. Touchpads in general are just a huge pain to use, and Unity fixes that quite well. It's a shame that it eschews ANY support for menu-driven applaunching, though. I'll just stick to XFCE on my desktop, personally.

It is hard to understand or to find all good things unity gives you, but then you get use to it, it is just brilliant. First time i load it and couldn't find anything, i switch back to kubuntu. But i give it another shot with 11.10 realese and I'm happy to do so. Using it for 4 moths now and I'm still finding new useful things in unity. I hope ubuntu guys will polish unity, because it is far from being flawless and have some annoying bugs.

@mrdrumsauce i dont think is that bad , but i use Cairo Dock as multitasking bar , much better than use unity

Ehh, Unity, Unity.. I really liked the Gnome 2.x look, but I have to tell I prefer Gnome 3 than Unity. Not to mention the HD video playback problem, 5 second playing, 1 second waiting..., and that annoying breaking line at the middle of the screen when playing dynamic frame changing videos that the basic Gnome 3 plays flawlessly... hmmm. I think something is not the best...

i didn't like unity but after using it for one week i started to love it it simple an nice i was a 10.04 user an hated unity now im loving it
