  • Contrast this interview with the way Fox news deals with Prof Dawkins. Coyne is a breath of fresh air.

  • "In the after life I wanna have a gin and tonic and play tennis"...lol haha I love this guy.

  • @naishjam Agreed ,but most of the "conversations" that Prof D conducts on TV are with ignorant pillocks like Creationist Wendy Whatsherbloodyname from Concerned Women Who Should Read More of America. They are not of the same calibre as Father Coyne.

  • @ilikezappa This is a lesson in having a respectful conversation with someone who holds very different views to your own.

  • @MightyKingYoung If the sun is energy, does that mean you eat the sun to get energy? No, you eat food. I meant that it's a thing of energy, not energy itself.. but I guess, who knows? Everything is a vibration, even matter. Matter doesn't actually exist.

  • @wygram If the soul is energy, does that mean the sun is a giant cosmic soul

  • The soul is just the energy of life, of the universe, of everything, God.

  • It sounds like Coyne, unless he was weirdly digressing, is saying that he believes God *is* limited to being immanent within creation and therefore *did not* know that man would be produced. That is not Catholic belief and not one, I believe, that a Catholic is free to hold. It is pantheist.

  • Such a polite, mature discussion by two gentlemen.

Wouldn't it be nice if it could rub off on more commenters here?

  • the only thing i disagree with george coyne is the drink of choice-vodka tonic with two limes is a better choice :-P.

i do believe that one can have a religious history and also have a more scientific and rational way of thinking.

  • "I believe I survive death." wat
