WHAT IS THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE?

@jmjfanss The repeal of the Fairness Doctrine is an attack on our First Amendment rights, Jim. The Fairness Doctrine gave ordinary people like us an opportunity to express an opposing viewpoint on the air. Now, that's not possible. You're falling for a bunch of corporate bullshit, my friend. The only people who benefit from revoking the Fairness Doctrine are the mind-controlling corporate broadcasters. They're the ones who are trying to quash your 1st amendment rights, not the gov't.

@cstrosser If you don't like Foxnews, turn it off! Duh! Give some examples of "blatant lies".... can't do it!

So what would I do if all radio and TV stations suddenly said my religious beliefs were wrong? Nothing! What they say does not determine my faith in God through Jesus Christ! This doctrine is for the weak minded who feel they need some constant reassurance and who can't understand the OFF switch!!
-
@Frankcoins What part fo turn it off if you don't like it, don't you understand.... oh and you are free to start your own network!! Who gets to decide what is fair? A whacked out godless liberal socialist? Who? Stupid people will be the end of freedom in this country!
-
@jmjfanss Then don't watch it...duh!!
-
@raystaar That is a lie saying that that is not possible. The fact is now, what is aired is according to the ratings.... and the liberal mindset media do not get good ratings. Turn it off if you don't like it! Duh!!

Thank God for freedom of speech and freedom of the press! The "fairness" doctrine is not fair. It is government cencorship! If you don't like what is on.... you have the freedom to turn it off! What part of just turn it off do liberals NOT understand? Libtards are all about government control! Freedom is best!

Turn off your propaganda boxes and you won't have to worry about media lies.

@raystaar "Either you can think, or you can't. Obviously, you can't." You should probably take your own advice. You'd sacrifice other people's rights to free speech just for some security. "Those who sacrifice their liberties for security deserve neither." Anyone, and everyone is allowed to speak on whatever subject they wish. Whether or not you think it's "fair" is highly fucking irrelevant, and if all you're caring about is "fair" free speech, I wouldn't listen to your halfwit diatribes anyway
Total facade and conspiracy theory. Government should not be allowed to determine what is fair, look at how they messed up income tax with 'fair' and 'progressive' tax rates... now 1300 pages worth of loopholes and back room deals.

The airwaves belong to the public, just like the air, water or the roads. Stations receive a license to operate - a privilege, not a right - and are required to operate in "the public interest."
When those such stations carry programs that are a 24/7 diet of Republican talking points - whose hosts mock or hang up on callers with views that do not follow the "party line," -- those licensees show that they are not fit to provide public service to the broad spectrum of viewpoints of Americans

@Frankcoins Thanks, Frank. Well said and spot on. If you're a Facebook user, please visit and "Like" the "Re-Regulate the FCC" page. We could use your input.
All the best...
