  • I think people are a little harsh about Charlotte Church.

I am no expert but I have developed a keen interest in opera in the last few years so I can totally get what people are saying about her technique.

However we have to bear in mind that this was an 11-12 year old girl who was manipulated, misled and misinformed. She was pushed into songs that her voice wasn't capable of sustaining because it hadn't fully developed to cope and it sounds like she was mis-instructed by her vocal coaches!

  • Out of her depth singing music of this kind.

  • How is this out of her depth? she sounds great!

  • @dbzrulesmorgan98 Nope this is from a German operetta called Die Fledermuse (The Bat)

  • I like Charlotte. I know that makes me unsophisticated. That's a bonus.

  • I think she sounds great in this song.. I wish I could hit the notes at the end.. I've only been able to hit them once, and I was so relaxed at the time that I was almost asleep.

  • to those who bash Charlotte's voice in this, I want to hear you do it and then tell me how easy it is, it's not! She did fine!

  • Totally out of her depth. Poor girl.

  • @ageordieboy I think ppl are way too harsh abt Charlotte Church. she has an amazingly gifted voice. I feel that she is not like a normal opera actress but more of a contemp opera with a diff kind of beat to it. I may be wrong at what I say but it is also because I am not a performing arts student so my knowledge is bad. but I have always been inspired by Charlotte and will continue to support her even when her taste in music has changed, Inspiration first, Technique ltr, quality last.
