Spud, my prairie dog!!! Was born September 2009, is a little over 3 months old now, I got him in October.

Ignore my dirty kitchen floor, please.... we've both been sick, lol.

He gets along WONDERFULLY with the two cats, and both tolerate him well, one even plays back with him. The two rabbits, however, are leary of him.

  • hey i was just currious how long you have had him and where you got him, and if you did research, because i was told you cant give them spinich its bad for them, and they only have a litter once a year in the spring, like march aprilish

  • @pixiesmomma He was captive bred (yes, he was) from a person in NY, and trust me, he was definitely born in September. I have two more who were January wild caught babies from Texas and purchased the first week of March and were just slightly older by a couple weeks than Spud was when I got him in October the previous year. supposedly "rare" times for each litter to be born and I'm told most are born in Feb. or March in Texas. Never heard spinach was bad but he's had it twice in 1 1/2 years

  • CUUTE!!!

Are they easy to look after or not?

really want a new pet to keep me company in my room and they look so lovely

  • Well, he's still technically a baby, so he hasn't gotten as big as they can get, nor has he gotten to that hormonal stage where he'll need to be neutered. If they aren't neutered/spayed, they can be holy terrors for a couple months a year.
