I've got 2010 and it seems to be there. Make sure the drop down list at the top-left corner is set to polygons

using to f8 command on my mac keyboard doesn't seem to be working. not even after combining it with fn. what is another way i can get to the component mode?

I need some help, for some reason after I turn back to the object mode (F8) and go over to Mesh -> Smooth, it doesn't do anything :S

Hit the 'fn' key when you use f8. It took me a while to figure that one out, too.

for some reason it doesnt say mesh anywere on my screen, maybe coz im on the learning edition or windows? help i cant smooth!!

Make sure the menu list in the top left corner of your screen is set to 'polygons'...
