February 22, 1985.

Rookie Jordan and the Bulls go against Bird and the Celtics. The Bulls are the visiting team here . The game is played at Hartford Center instead of Boston Garden.

Jordan is quiet in the first three quarters and rarely shoots the ball. Then comes alive in the 4th. He finishes with 26 pts and 15 of those come in the final quarter. He also have 7 asts, 4rbs, 3 stls.

Bird is red hot from the beginning and has 30 pts at the end of third. Finishes with 34.

Towards the end of the game they missed a Jordan layup while they were showing a Bird replay. They never showed the replay of that Jordan basket.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP)Larry Bird scored a game-high 34 points, Kevin McHale had 24 and Robert Parish added 23 Friday night as the Boston Celtics held off Chicago in the fourth quarter and sent the Bulls to their 11th straight road defeat, 115-105.

The Celtics, who held on to their half-game lead over the Philadelphia 76ers in the Atlantic Division, led by 16 entering the fourth quarter. But, with rookie sensation Michael Jordan scoring 15 of his 26 points in the period, Chicago cut the lead to four with 1:25 remaining. Jordan leads the Bulls in every statistical category this season.

The Celtics, who have not lost this season when they've gone into the fourth quarter with a lead, did not let their record get tarnished.

Mj Was a better rookie. OReb (big mans game) almost equal. Steals & Blocks greater. B. Wallace & B. Russell would say Larry Lengend has no excuse. FG%, higher. Yeah Bird shot 3's so does the 41% help or hurt. FT% higher & MJ avg'd bout 5 more attempts per game. Mj avg'd more t.o's but MPG & FGA's say he had the ball alot more & closer defenders (FTA's). MJ couldnt make his team pass the ball they chose to. And I dont think his passing game improved cuz he avg'd the same his whole career. He was

I used to have serious rage fits watching watching Jordan play because he was a traveling maniac. The commentators called it a "Stutter-step".. Uhhhhgggg...... I respect Jordan's athletic ability, but man... Does that boy travel. I was raised watching Larry Bird play. That guy was a friggin basketball ninja disguised as a geeky white dude. His passing game "Slap passes" used to boggle my mind. And of any player in history... I would NOT want to be defending Bird with 2 seconds left on the clock

beginning of pussification of NBA by end of NO CALL in past when offwensive athletic guy jumped into defeder, NO call, up to offensive to make the play, but NAB got pussified and made game much easier for short driver sliek jordan cuz eveyhting a foul even if offensive rams into defender or jumps into defender, should jsut be no call, FANS watchign for good block fucked
