I remember my dad mentioned these two wrestlers and others. these guys knew how to entertain and perform. the wrestling today is stupid, too many story lines, too much drugs, too much bull shit. its about the money and bringing it in. these performers back then were the real deal

@MrWalt52690 Actually WATCH matches from this era, ignore the black and white, forget about the reputations then watch an RVD, Y2j, Mysterio or Kurt Angle match and compare. Wrestling was considered a sport then but was still staged, wrestling today is much more athletic. Complaining about bodybuilders in wrestling is nothing new. A lot of big guys were underused too. Austin, Rock, Y2J, Miz, Foley, Mysterio, HBK, Bret Hart, Edge, Jeff Hardy, Punk and Angle. All champions who weren't bodybuilders

@JonLambert89 ok one this is the real era of wrestling as in wrestling was sport now is nothing but a joke 2 to be a wrestler you have to be a bodybuilder in order to be able to lift the other wrestlers 3 early wrestling has guys who were in better shape than all these fucks in wee now all the wrestlers now might look in shape but they get hurt easily these guys don't look like it but they were in shape and didn't get hurt easily

Love how people refer to this era as the age of 'real wrestling'. "Before all the steroids and bodybuilding freaks". Yet want to ignore that steroids and bodybuilding were in wrestling then too. Sammartino came to wrestling through body building. But I'm surprised to see that there was good wrestling back then. Most early wrestling I've seen is nothing more than middle aged bald guys with bitch tits hugging. But Lou Thez actually was ahead of his time. He would totally fit in today.

It's not like Vince invented that. Primo Carnera got pushed to the moon despite being an even worse wrestler than he was a boxer. Freaks and wrestling go back together to the turn of the 20th century.
