Whole Foods Market admits it sells genetically modified foods:

"The reality is that no grocery store in the United States, no matter what size or type of business, can claim they are GE-free. ... we are not going to mislead our customers with an inaccurate claim..."

Whole Foods Market
Internal Company Memo 1/30/2011

Activists with the Organic Consumers Association's Millions Against Monsanto campaign went to Whole Foods Market in San Francisco to try to identify which foods are genetically engineered, but couldn't get any help from store employees.

  • "I'm sorry are you still interviewing me?" Ha, she might as well said "Error, error, programming does not allow truthful human communication, Error, Beep-Boop-Beep."

Why didn't the whole foods employee/robot answer those excellent questions about whether the food was GMO or not? Why don't we have the right to know if food is GMO or not? Why are we dependent on corporations for our food in the 1st place? Because land isnt a human right, so we cant grow our own to the level of self-sufficiency.

  • Y single out WFs? If it isnt labeled "Organic" or "Non-GMO Certified", assume it IS genetically modified. Some folks dont care & there is no reason WFs cant also sell to them. It isnt up 2 WFs 2 label the packages- its up 2 the manufacturer. Ive never assumed that every product WFs sells was either organic or non-GMO. Youd have 2 be a pretty dim bulb 2 think otherwise. Im astonished that youd purchase food products w/the implicit intent of returning them 2 the store when ur done exploiting them.

  • I am sorry, but if one is making accusations I would expect more statements that don't have the word probably and might, or suspect. One can't just claim that something is wrong because they suspect that it probably might have something in it.

  • Sweet cheeks, they purposely did this at and to Whole Foods, because WF's is the largest natural store in the U.S.. they are trying to initiate CHANGE. You're the idiot.

  • The WFM employee is totally unprofessional in her behavior, not to mention she had no idea how to respond to questions. Makes me wonder what kind of standards are there for people cooking the prepared meals...

  • What the. The WF's employee really erked me. What would she say if I walked in as a customer and asked, "Is this Karo syrup GMO?" Would she have said "Om my you are interviewing me?" How ridiculous!!! WF's.. Get your act together!!!

  • The statement made by the camera man in the last 5 seconds of the video was more helpful than continuing to ask the employee, who clearly was not able to answer. I agree that GMO's should be labelled. It's not just a Whole Foods issue... it's an issue with every product on the market today. Kudos to Whole Foods for being so accomodating, actually. Kudos to Organic Consumers Association for putting the questions out there. When more people demand the answers I think there will be change.

  • You people are evil....if you don't want to eat it then don't. Why do you try to give crap to employees of a store because they sell food to people that you don't approve of. Yu are just as bad as those morons who stand outside abortion cliinics and harass everyone....really, get a life.

  • It's interesting that the employee got so defensive! What a study on human behavior! Thanks for the info in the video. I'm pickin' up what you're puttin down!!

  • SAN FRANCISCO WHOLE FOODS MARKET NON GMO VERIFIED PRODUCTS LIST.....THEY HAVE A LIST.
