The Engineering Staff (Chief Howe, Chief Lewis, assisted by Chris Merrick, Brian Russell, and Phillip Johnson) get the wheel rolling again after almost 2 years asleep. This test was being conducted as part of the "Rally on the River" event to launch the Delta Queen Preservation Foundation. Things are looking good around the DELTA QUEEN...the hope of her future is bright! Visit her in Chattanooga soon and see for yourself...donate to the Foundation while you are there...she is on the way back in a good way!

  • The annoying buzzing sound is the electric fire pump running. We used it to circulate river water through the condenser instead of the steam circ pump b/c it just took too much steam!

  • Glad to see they're keeping her -somewhat- active. Question, what's the horrendous buzzing noise in the background?

  • The Queen isn't dead...she's just been sleeping.

  • The first signs of life! What a moment that was!
