  • Very intelligent and well done review, I like the looks of the Omega better as well, Breitlings are impressive to see in person, but their dials are usually really really busy and a little hard to read. Sometimes I feel like less is more when it comes to watches.

  • @mrpicky510 Thank you.

  • omega movements are ETA?

    mind = blown

  • @kashiwa It's really that shocking? Pretty much all watch manufacturers except Rolex use ETA movements or modified ETA movements. Omega did make it's own movement for the Hour Vision and I don't know if its been used in other models. I also heard Ball is going to be making in-house movements soon!

  • very informative,thank you.

  • @MrBLZee You're welcome.

  • @TheExoticInsider The 8500 is only a few years old, it wouldn't make up for decades of renaming ETA movements.

    Also, the 8500 is NOT a true in-house movement, it's a collaborative effort within the Swatch group. Omega assemble it, and it's exclusive to them. That's it.

    Look up "Grand Seiko" and "astronomical observatory concours".

    Also, my Seiko Alpinist cost 500$, is consistently +3seconds per day out of the box, and is COMPLETELY made in-house. There's nothing cheap about it.

  • @kashiwa Do some research first please. Omega does have a lot of ETA movements however they also sell a lot of in-house movements too, such as the 8500 in their new Planet Oceans. And the fact you compared a cheap Japanese Seiko to a Swiss made COSC certified company just got you a thumbs down.

  • in britain the seamaster is only £1500

  • @turbo311 it's pretty embarrassing if you ask me. The Swiss are so proud of their horological heritage and then the entire country goes and tweaks the same four or five generic 300$ ETA movements to sell them at a 1,000% markup, with the biggest brands even portraying the movement as an in-house movement.

    It's a scam is what it is.

    Bought a Seiko Alpinist; same materials, same quality of finish, same accuracy as any of the 3,000$ Swiss offerings, but 100% made in-house and at 1/8th the price.

  • @turbo311 Omega all the way... Word has it that the PO "liquidmetal" version will be on Craig's wrist in the new movie Skyfall.

  • @Joebelove91210 Well, he's half wrong actually bc 007 doesn't wear the PO exclusively. And 007 wore a Rolex Submariner in the older movies before Pierce Brosnan took on the role.
