The core was just a 6 inch iron bolt, 1.5 inches inside the coil, the rest protruding above the top, than on top of this I put another 6 inch bolt which appeared to give more stability to the field, the coil is just a 2 inch solenoid with the frame removed, but I'm about to create my own coil from wire removed from the secondary winding of a microwave oven transformer, I am hoping to achieve an inch of levitation distance with 232.7 gram object.

This could hold bigger objects. But I dont have videos. It was my greduation project 3 years ago. What kind of core did you use in your electromagnet.
