  • A fine piece!

  • Yes, it's my favourite from the 4 videos! I like to watch and hear technique on behalf of emotion!

  • i used to be a fool trying to live, smoking my face off till my bowels were going to give, till i learned how to accept life on its own terms,or not, now i do the same and put on some ECM= 2 cool.... now i dont chase neighbor hood kids with a three foot long weed wacker nylon spinney of murderous herbs.

  • I always say RT technique on classical is like classical technique for the 23rd century. Mabe the world will catch up to him by then

  • I have been listening to Ralph Towner, with the Oregon ensemble or solo, since 1976. His compositions and inventions never fail to amaze and delight me, and Toledo is no exception.

Thank you, Ralph, for so many years of so much terrific music ... and thanks to G303 for posting this cut and others!

  • @Davidbzm01 Im sure ralph got some inspiration from Ohio as well when writing this composition.

  • Oh... Toledo Spain.. i live in Toledo Ohio.. USA... laughs. my bad

  • I've seen Ralph performing this last year in Longiano (Rimini, Italy), that was great : he never makes a fout, that's incredible. I talked to him, he's living in Rome, but he was lot on his Oregon's revival project...did u hear his last performs with oregon ? just the best !

  • my god. that's brilliance. so understated and gentle.

  • Ralph's awesome. He can make a twelve string sound like a rolling ocean. My fave track is Oceanus with Garbarek.

  • Ralph is awesome...he reminds me of (pianist) Richie Beirach with all of the cool Lydian Augmented and Dorian b2 voicings. That guy who called Miles Davis one of the all time greats needs to sober up. He was a trumpet owner. If you want to hear a trumpet player, get some Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, or Theodore "Fats" Navarro.

  • And your point is...? It's not an electric guitar either, and for your information, Jimi Hendrix revolutionised that instrument. (an equally irrelevant comment)
