I've seen Ralph performing this last year in Longiano (Rimini, Italy), that was great : he never makes a fout, that's incredible. I talked to him, he's living in Rome, but he was lot on his Oregon's revival project...did u hear his last performs with oregon ? just the best !

Ralph's awesome. He can make a twelve string sound like a rolling ocean. My fave track is Oceanus with Garbarek.

Ralph is awesome...he reminds me of (pianist) Richie Beirach with all of the cool Lydian Augmented and Dorian b2 voicings. That guy who called Miles Davis one of the all time greats needs to sober up. He was a trumpet owner. If you want to hear a trumpet player, get some Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, or Theodore "Fats" Navarro.

And your point is...? It's not an electric guitar either, and for your information, Jimi Hendrix revolutionised that instrument. (an equally irrelevant comment)

Bach's music is among my favorite, but you can't say he was the greatest of improvisers, we don't even have recordings of him playing! If we're talking about greatest improviser, my vote has to be Miles Davis. Miles was just it when it came to composing or improvising.

well i can say ralph towner is a great jazz player you just have to listen to his albums with john abercrombie and gary peacok, but that doesnt mean that everything he does is jazz since he also has a lot of classical works
