CN 407 at Frenchman's Road, NS - Sept 21, 2008

CN 407 passes by Frenchman's Road, which is just outside of Enfield. There were 37 cars on this load, with 2557 and 5741 for power. The load looks small, however, most of their cars will be picked up in Truro, so it'll make for a larger train when it arrives in Moncton.

I waited about an hour and 45 minutes for this train, as it rolled by around 7:45am. I loved this location, because every 5 minutes, you can see an airplane fly overhead(since the airport is nearby).

However, when there weren't any planes going by, it was actually so quiet that you could probably hear a pin drop. I could hear 407 blowing it's horn at Windsor Junction, which was about 25 minutes away.

That's where I caught 121 the last time I was in Halifax. Great spot.

I've never caught any trains in Nova Scotia before, I was trying to get videos in areas that you've been to before. I don't want to seem like a copycat, but these areas(based on youtube videos) are the only areas that i'm familiar with.

There's no such thing as a copycat in train videos. Every train is different--engines, horn, length, type of cargo. A person could railfan the same spot for 20 years and still see something different each time.

As I said, it's a great spot away from the highway and major traffic issues. The only thing I didn't like in the evening were the mosquitoes.
