  • 'high' hat ? ... hi-hat.

  • @RobertoAvilesMusic in case you haven't already gotten an answer, i'll see what i can do. you asked about how to loosen your hi-hat, now, i'm no pro, but they're should be some kind of nut-type-thing around the bell of your top hi hat, simply unscrew it a bit to make some space between the bell and the nut. The bottom hat should already be able to move freely.

  • @LewisTheDrummer1992 I was actually trying to find out how to make my hi hat sound better. When it is closed it sounds to flat with no resonation at all and when I have it slightly open it sounds to splashy. I was wondering if you had any advice or if it's just my hi hat.

  • The reason people are slamming this vid is because it's become faddish to make fun of expert village drumming videos. However, lot of them are trash but this is an exception. Great job!

  • u piss me off

  • Wow! you guys are unecessarily harsh :(

  • how do you get your hihats loose when you hit them like I see some hihats set up.

  • I don't see why all you people are complaining. He's clearly just giving tips to people who are just starting to play drums. Sure, when you go more in depth, you can experiment and play them however you want, but he was just showing the typical way they should be played.

And if you listen and watch when he actually plays, he played the jazz beat on his hi hat pretty good, and he had good form with his hands.

  • got my hi-hat like roy mayorga; high up in the air! and i love it

  • You could even play the stand if you want to!
