You need avidemux2 with subtitler plugin ( filter ).

Remember to select correct subtitles charset.

In "format" select: AVI
If you dont have any TTF fonts you can use one from MPlayer from /usr/share/mplayer

It works on all Linux distributions including:
Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Arch Linux, Gentoo, Linux Mint and many others..

Avidemux2 is in repositories of most Linux distributions.

Works with most popular codecs including:
- MPEG-4
- MJPEG
- Huffyuv
- FFVHuff
- FFV1
- FLV1
- H.263
- DVD
- VCD
- MP3
- MP2
- AC3
- Theora
- Vorbis

  • is the usr/share/mplayer/subfont.ttf is important? if that so, from where should i get it? i dont have it in my computer

  • it's not workin bro!!!

I've put an arabic subtitle, n' when preview it doesn't appear below!!!!

    HELP PLZZZ BRO.....

  • wont work.. ALL PROGRAMS ARE SHIT NOTHING WORKS. FUCK THIS.

  • @muhamed408 yah, i know

  • @Syredisa057 You could just google it dude.

  • put the damn download link next time -.-

  • Is there a way to separate subtitles from movie, because I have a movie with Sweden subtitles, but I don't want them on,so I load my own subtitles, and they are overlaping the merged Sweden subtitles, very annoying

  • Does it support .mkv?

  • I can't seem to get the subtitles to work. the film came with an SSA format subtitle file, so I downloaded an srt one, which I'm more used to anyways, but when i put that in, follow your instructions, there's no filepath to the font file you're talking about. I copied Cooper Bold.ttf from my windows/fonts directory into the same directory I was pulling the video and subtitle tracks out of, and it still isn't showing up when i preview. what am i doing wrong?

  • thank you pal!
