The controlled explosive demolition (CED) of the Reactor Maintenance, Assembly, and Disassembly (R-MAD) Building 3110 was conducted to safely and cost-effectively demolish the multi-story concrete high bay. The high bay was historically used for assembly and disassembly of reactors to support the Rover Project for the Nuclear Rocket Development Station at the Nevada Test Site. Nylon and metal mesh screening attached to the high bay were used to contain building debris during the detonation. Prior to demolition, an evaluation was conducted to determine the extent of residual radioactive contamination in the building. This evaluation, based upon computer modeling, concluded that dust suppression was not required for the CED since levels would be within permitted release limits. This was verified by Radiological Control Technicians prior to allowing personnel back into the area. The resulting building debris is being disposed at the Nevada Test Site Area 5 Radioactive Waste Management Site.

It's in Area 25 of the Nellis Range. They tested nuclear powered rocket engines there.
