A little map I'm making out of boredom, might become something useful if I can fit it in somewhere. I used a program called Caustics Generator to create a seamless, animated caustics overlay, which I put on certain surfaces to achieve the caustics you see in this map. The waterfalls are a scrolling refract texture on a func_brush entity, and the rapids underneath the grate is just a scrolling texture with an alpha map that's put on some subdivided displacements to give it a wavy effect.

I put trigger_push volumes in the water to simulate physics from the water flow, that way if little props fall in they get pushed around realistically.

  • can hammer editor just be used on tf2 alone? i jsut got a upgraded pc and going back to level makeing but dont want to instal hl2 or css as i never play them.

    Yeah I think so. If you just install TF2 and then install SourceSDK then it should only have the TF2 configuration available in the SDK launcher. I don't think it requires HL2 or CSS in order to map for TF2, that wouldn't make much sense honestly.

    Yes i have all source games. I see hammer editor on steam on tools bar. I not never see it before xD. LOL.. And again nice job .
