  • Hi all--

I swear I replied to these comments about 2 weeks ago, but my post is nowhere to be seen. Oh well.

The video was shot at Cape Henlopen State Park, Delaware, just a few hundred meters from the Atlantic Ocean. There is no significant Atlantic White Cedar that I know of in the immediate area--you'd have to go about 20+ miles inland to pick that up, and then it's quite patchy.

I'm pleased with all the interest this clip has generated. Let me know if I can provide further info.

    Jeff

  • Sounds like a scissor-grinding cicada (Tibicen pruinosa) to me.
