Kuranda Scenic Railway, Queensland Australia

We leave Cairns for Kuranda. Travelling on the famous Kuranda Scenic Railway which is a must-do when visiting Cairns.
During the journey that takes 1 hour 45 minutes you'll learn about the history from the late 1800's and the construction of the railway.
You also get to enjoy the wonderful surroundings, rainforest, steep ravines and beautiful waterfalls.

@postalboy2011 Thanks. Great to hear you where there in 1986. Even thought it's a historic ride, did it look the same back then as it did when we shot this in 2008? We were there in 2002 as well and we recognized the ride, but the Kurranda village had gone through some small changes.

It's such a beautiful ride. Hope you have the opportunity to go back some day.

@LimeWaveVideo The train ride looked the same, though the length of(number of railroad coaches) seemed shorter back then from what I can remember. Now as for Kuranda village i cant honestly remember much of the village. I do remember taking a "duck" , an amphibious vehicle, ride while at Kuranda, then taking a motor coach tour of the tableland, and returning to Cairns via motor coach. I do hope to return someday.

I've been to Queensland and have dove the great barrier reef and have gone on the Kuranda scenic railway back in November 1993 and loved it. Would sure like to go back. Thanks for posting. Brought back such good memories.
