Session Date and Time: Day 2, March 24, 7:30pm EST (4:30pm West Coast) (45min)
Keywords: collaboration, Encryption, Key Management, Privacy, security.
Authors: Ed Sullivan, CEO at Aria Systems.
Abstract:
Cloud Computing has created a huge opportunity for ISVs and software developers to create new revenue streams while reducing the costs of large-scale application delivery.

Ultimately, developers want to use cloud platforms as a way to monetize their applications and drive revenue. But the dominant cloud platforms in the marketplace today all have significant limitations in their out of the box options for developers to monetize their end-customers. Most offer some form of integrated, usage-based billing, but only allow developers to set up basic one-time charges, or to bill end-customers based on a simple markup of some metered infrastructure charge bandwidth, CPU, or storage.

The problem is that for most software developers, the value that their application provides to the customer is not a function of infrastructure usage. The application value might be a function of the number of users, number of transactions, activated features in the application, or some other metric.

This presentation will provide:
· An overview of the challenges, and monetization options for developers using cloud platforms

· An introduction to Aria Systems capabilities to help ISVs and developers to monetize cloud applications

· Real-world examples and best practices for how your peers are maximizing cloud monetization by taking a different approach
