That's very heavy. The juxtaposition of Catcher in the Rye, Waiting for Godot and the atom bomb(s).
My father lived and worked at Los Alamos during the war.
Needless to say I have mixed emotions about that.

Actually I should have said "vital to WIN the war".. don't forget they were the enemy. Its never nice to see that shit happen, but under the circumstances, after Pearl Harbour and of course the horrendous effect Japan had over Australia they had little choice - and little time. People were still being killed by the day my friend, don't forget that. Japan were the enemy, and what happened happened because it was essential at the time.

lol You know what else; Australia was about to surrender long before America even came into it. Australia crumbled.. basically, under Japanese pressure.. and I dont hear anyone bitching about that. Japan was far from out of it -- they were still playing the game and those two bombs crippled the bastards, which was vital to the war.
