@LastNetwork2 It's a preliminary hearing. Most of Perry's cases are hearings and never make it to trial.

@LastNetwork2 hey, I just ran across this at wikipedia: "In most episodes, the identity of the guilty party was discovered without an actual trial being held. Instead, this occurred at the preliminary hearing stage, wherein the district attorney was only required to produce enough evidence to convince the judge that the defendant should be bound over for trial (this spared the company the expense of twelve extras in a jury box)."

Is there a jury? They never show a jury, and the judge never gives instructions to a jury, like when he has things stricken from the record.

@leananshae Y'know, I never thought of that before...Then again, such as the case with most dramas (or other forms of fiction) there is always a certain level of Suspension of disbelief. In other words, I think the jury might've been eliminated from the story for Brevity sake.
