@ColtDeltaElite10mm - I have to respectfully disagree with one of your statements. Gibson also produced the Tal Farlow, Barney Kessel and Trini Lopez guitars. None of those guitars, however, attained the iconic status or longevity of the Les Paul. Les was a true innovator on so many levels - what an amazing guy! He was also a very funny guy, he loved to get people to laugh and was great at it.

@EpiphoneArchtopLover... The problem that you don't understand is that there was only ONE model of the Gibson "Les Paul" guitar. Gibson didn't make a hundred thousand Les Paul's. Getting a star named after you is akin to having a sand pebble at the beach named after you. Stars are a dime-a-dozen. Anyone can get one. How many can have Gibson name a guitar after you???? Answer: 1. Les Paul.
