(THIS IS PART "A" (22A) OF A FIVE PART ("A," "B," ",C" "D," and "E" ) VIDEO. MAKING DRAINAGE HOLES IN POTS IS SHOW, ALONG WITH MY DREAM PLANT, A BANYAN TREE BONSAI. I HAVE TRIED BANYAN SEEDS, AND BANYAN CUTTINGS, WITH NO SUCESS. BUT YESTERDAY I FOUND A BANYAN BONSAI (SO LABELED) THAT LOOKED IN POOR SHAPE, SO I RESCUED IT. IN THIS VIDEO I CUT THE ROOT BALL DOWN TO SIZE AND PLANT THE NEW BONSAI ON A TERRA COTTA PLATTER.(***PLEASE VIEW PART 12 ABOUT THE WARNING ON HANDLING SPHAGNUM MOSS BEFORE YOU WORK WITH SPHAGNUM MOSS***).

  • Hi, I think the best way to get strength is to have the clay fired. You might be best trying to get into a local potting class, I found the hand-building method a lot quicker and easier than using the wheel to throw pots. Make big drainage holes.
