Basically, this is the end result of the flood kicking me out of my job at the Iowa Memorial Union for awhile and having my summer classes temporarily suspended.
The footage from the video was shot by the IMU, "The Hobbit Trail" across from the music building, the parking ramp behind Burge Hall, and the street between Hubbard Park and the journalism and cinema building. There is a lot more damage that I didn't shoot... including Dubuque St. and Mayflower Residence Hall. And Gilbert Street... and a bunch of residential areas... including the University Apartments...
When I shot this 8/16/08, I believe the river had crested.
Also, the use of Johnny Cash was not intended to fuel the stereotype that Iowans only listen to country. Johnny Cash is just a badass. Pretty simple.
