Dipps Bhamrah Project: Bhangra - Video Diary

Welcome to the next part in a series of video diaries from radio presenter, DJ and music producer Dipps Bhamrah. Follow Dipps has he begins his journey back into the the world of studios, production and Bhangra behind the scenes.

In 2003 Dipps Bhamrah released his debut commercial album 'Take One' which featured artists such as KS.Bhamrah (Apna Sangeet) & Amar Arshi. The album was at the time featured extensively on UK and International radio and TV. There was BBC Radio 1 support from the Sony Award winning shows Bobby Friction & Nihal Presents as well as 2 tracks being showcased by the late great presenter John Peel. The album was also played and charted in countries such as India, Germany & Japan. The track 'Makhan' is now a firm part of The Dhol Foundations showcase to an international audience.

Since then Dipps has worked on various projects including the Serious Records compilations 'Gettin Serious' & 'Ne Bhaliyeh', K.S Bhamrah's 2010 album 'Dhol Vajda' while

2010 has seen the start of Dipps Bhamrah's Project: Bhangra which is to be documented on film as the recording process develops into 2011. You will see behind the scenes footage from recording studios, recording sessions and much more.

In Part 1, Dipps sets his plan of action as he makes his way to Late Nite Studios with the video being soundtracked by production from Project: Bhangra.

In Part 2, Dipps starts work on recording alongside young percussionist Lakhan Singh. See how Dipps and Lakhan work together in getting various percussion styles and sounds recorded at Late Nite Studios.

  • @KRANTI59 Appreciate the comments, but im a 1.5 out of 10 compared to some of the amazing banjo players in India and Pakistan.
